CIRP Design Conference 2026 in Tokyo, Japan

I had the honor to present my paper at the 36th CIRP Design Conference in Tokyo, enjoying a great community of other researchers working on Model-Based Systems Engineering and Digital Twins.

In the paper «Architecture-to-Simulation - System Model Based Design and Operation of Digital Twins by Reusing SysML for Finite Element Analysis» we present an approach for using the system architecture and domain models to support the design and operation of Digital Twins. By reusing existing system models and connecting them with domain models, the approach aims to reduce the effort required to develop and maintain Digital Twins, supporting their broader adoption across complex engineering systems.

I have added some of the content on my Research page.

Thanks to my coauthors for their great contributions to this research. This was a join publication with the department on Engineering Design at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg, a very well known institution for Systems Engineering and great partnerships with industry.

All in all the conference was a great experience, with high quality research and presentations. It was interesting to discuss with international colleagues the current demands for Systems Engineering and Digital Twin research and hear their perspectives.
